A Kendall Regional Medical Center nurse technician who was arrested last month for sexually assaulting a woman was arrested again on a similar charge, police said.
Luis Alfonso Lucero, 37, was arrested Monday for the sexual assault of a 43-year-old woman who was under his care, Miami-Dade Police said. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
The incident happened while the woman was a patient at Kendall Regional on Aug. 20, police said.
Lucero had been previously arrested on Aug. 28 for sexually assaulting another woman under his care on Aug. 2, police said.
"Obviously the crime is bad enough, there isn't a more difficult crime for a woman," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Roy Rutland said. "Adding to it that these woman were being cared for, so that certainly increases the tragedy in this."

Rutland said the second victim came forward after media reports about Lucero's first arrest.
"Once this aired in the media, we had an additional victim come forward and make the same allegations," Rutland said. "The information was very very similar to that first case, almost corroborated, identical."
In a statement Wednesday, Kendall Regional officials said Lucero was fired after his arrest in August, and added that they conduct thorough background checks on all employees.
"Our paramount goal here is to ensure protection of our patients and we absolutely will not tolerate inappropriate action towards our patients," the statement read. "We remain absolutely focused on our mission of delivering quality, compassionate care to the people of our community."
Rutland said there could be more victims, and urged anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
