An entire squad of officers from the Kendall District Station are being investigated by the Miami-Dade Police Internal Affairs Bureau, police said.
Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said the squad, which has five to six officers and a sergeant, has been suspended with pay while the investigation is completed.
The nature of the investigation is unknown, only that it concerns the officers' conduct while on duty and that it has been going on for several months, Zabaleta said.
The officers weren't identified and Zabaleta said he couldn't comment any further.
An assistant for Maj. James O'Donnell at the Kendall District Station said inquiries would be handled by Miami-Dade Police public information officers.
“At this point they are under investigation for actions conducted while on their work schedule," O'Donnell told the Miami Herald. "Once the investigation is complete, appropriate action will be taken, if necessary."
