A student at a Hollywood school has been accused of posting a threat on social media.
The student allegedly made the threat against Hollywood Hills High School. Broward County Schools officials said another student notified a staff member about the social media post, which was investigated by police.
Police said they made contact with the student and detectives are still actively investigating the post. Officials haven't released details on the nature of the threat.
School officials commended the student who came forward with the information.
"Students engaging in behavior that goes against the District’s code of conduct will face disciplinary measures in accordance with the District's discipline matrix," the district said in a statement. "Broward County Public Schools encourages all students, parents, employees and community members – if you see something, say something."
