In the wake of Wednesday’s horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Broward County Schools will be providing grief counselling at several locations across the area for students, teachers and families dealing with the tragedy.
Anyone who wants to speak with a counselor can go to one of three locations:
- Pines Trails Park Rec Center and Amphitheater (10555 Trails End in Parkland)
- Coral Springs Center for the Performing Arts (2855 Coral Springs Drive)
Counselors will also be at every school in the county for students and staff, while staff at Douglas can speak to a counselor at Parkland Library, located at 6620 N. University Drive.
The school, where 17 people lost their lives in one of the deadliest school shootings in United States history, will be closed through the end of the week with officials expected to make an announcement on further possible closures at a later date.
