A former City of Miami assistant fire chief was sentenced Friday in ffor her participation in a mortgage fraud scheme, prosecutors said.
Veldora Arthur was sentenced to 57 months in prison and three years supervised release. She was found guilty of charges to commit wire and mail fraud, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Arthur reportedly received $317,000 in one month for her participation. Authorities estimate that the total losses to the lenders were $2.5 million.
