Florida Gov. Orders Execution for Convicted Serial Killer

A convicted serial killer is scheduled to die Jan. 7 for the brutal murder of a central Florida bank clerk.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Friday signed a death warrant for 53-year-old Oscar Ray Bolin Jr.

Bolin was convicted for the December 1986 murder of Teri Lynn Matthews. Matthews, 26, was abducted from the Land O'Lakes Post Office, raped and then fatally stabbed and beaten.

Bolin had twice before seen murder convictions thrown out for killing Matthews. The former carnival worker and truck driver had also seen the court overturn twice each his convictions and death sentences for murdering two other women.

He was sentenced to death for the 1986 murder of Stephanie Collins and is serving a life sentence for the 1986 murder of Natalie Holley.
