The attorney for the family of a woman who was killed in a horrific crash involving a Hialeah Police officer is questioning the treatment she received following the accident.
On Friday night, the family of Andrea Castillo had gone out to celebrate her 21st birthday when the crash happened just before 10 p.m.
Hialeah Police say Castillo and her boyfriend were going north on 9th Court when they collided with the unmarked police car being driven by an on-duty officer who was traveling eastbound on E. 49th Street.
The impact was so great it caused the SUV Castillo was in to flip over.
"The most important thing we had to do when we arrived at this accident was get the three persons to the hospital as quickly as possible," Hialeah Police spokesman Carl Zogby said after the crash. "The officer was transported by air because of his injuries and the two occupants of the SUV were transported by ground."

But Jorge Silva, the Castillo family's lawyer, said there are still questions about the treatment.
"They don't know why it is that someone who was visibly far less injured than their daughter was airlifted while their daughter that was unquestionably critically injured was not," Silva said.
Hialeah Police say emergency medical personnel treating patients on the scene determine the appropriate treatment and way to get them to the hospital.
"We assure that this case is being handled in a thorough and expeditious manner. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims and their families," Hialeah Fire Chief Marcos De La Rosa said in a statement.
The crash is still under investigation. Castillo was declared brain dead on Sunday and was being kept alive to preserve her organs for donation.
"I can't talk about it right now, it hurts too much. I just ask for prayers for her...and for my son," mother Susie Castillo, who recently won a seat on the Miami-Dade School Board, said Monday.
