Seven people evacuated their boat Sunday morning after it caught on fire.
Miami Fire Rescue responded to a vessel fire at the Dinner Key Marina just after 9 a.m. Firefighters found a 24' Bayliner engulfed in flames by the boat ramp. According to officials, the family on board escaped with only minor scratches, while the boat and dock sustained severe fire damage.
The owner stated that he had just put the boat in the water and was adding gas and oil to the motor. When he started the engine, the compartment caught fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
