  • “I’m very happy you were born. And I’m so happy and honored to send this message,” Johnson said. “Party hard, I’m sending you so much love.”

A 100-year-old woman got the surprise of her life when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sent her a special video message for her birthday.

Wearing a sash that read “100 & Fabulous,” Marie Grover – a longtime fan of the actor and former professional wrestler – watched as Johnson serenaded her with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

“It’s the Rock!” exclaimed Grover upon first seeing the video.

After singing “happy birthday” to “Grandmom Grover,” Johnson had some heartfelt words for the super-fan.

“I’m very happy you were born. And I’m so happy and honored to send this message,” Johnson said. “Party hard, I’m sending you so much love.”

“Love you right back you Rock you!” Grover said in response.

The surprise video message was arranged by Jamie Klingler, a communications and public relations expert from Philadelphia. “Grandmom Grover” is Klingler’s best friend’s grandmother – a woman who has never been shy about her adoration of “The Rock.”

“When we were in high school (25 years ago) she would wear a [R]ock sweat shirt and tell us how handsome he is,” Klingler wrote on Twitter.

Klinger told BuzzFeed News that she reached out to Johnson’s publicist and agent in the weeks leading up to Grover’s birthday. On Sept. 22nd, she tweeted about her plans, saying Grover would “lose her mind” if the surprise were to become a reality.

Turns out, Johnson replied to the tweet saying: “What?? First I’m hearing of this! Who’s turning 100? Beautiful age! What do you need, Jamie?”

Johnson sent Klingler the video message, and Klingler sent the video to her best friend in Philidelphia.

Johnson retweeted the video saying:

“Love seeing this. Happy 100th Grandma Grover! I’m honored you’re a fan and grateful you were born! Much love, Rock.”
