A 4-year-old boy was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital after a pit bull attacked him in Miami Thursday, authorities said.
The attack happened at 1873 Northwest 19th Terrace, Miami Fire Rescue said.
The boy's neighbor, who owns two pit bulls, will be charged $1,000 because one of the dogs bit the child, Miami-Dade Animal Services said. The neighbor will be charged an additional $500 each for having two pit bulls, which are illegal in Miami-Dade County.
The dogs will be quarantined for 10 days and must be removed from the county at the end of that time, Miami-Dade Animal Services said.
