Authorities on Tuesday released a photo of a Alaskan man who went missing after living in Key West for the past year.
Jay Wesley Rydberg, 40, was reportedly living on 39-foot trimaran sailboat in the Garrison Bright Marina. He had moved from Alaska to be closer to his son, who lives in Leigh Acres.
Rydberg's sister Jill Lesseig, who lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, said her brother sailed from Key West to Fort Myers and was returning aboard his sailboat called "3/4 Time."
He called his sister on May 13 and told her he would be arriving in Key West Tuesday or Wednesday night.
Early Tuesday morning, the U.S. Coast Guard detected his emergency position indicating radio beacon and started searching for him for 78 hours.
The beacon was found 33 miles north of Key West. But no signs of the Rydberg or the boat were found.
The weather was not good the night the beacon went off, with 20 knot winds and 3-foot high seas.

Lesseig said Ryberg worked "manual labor,"but she wasn't sure who he worked for.
Anyone with information about him was asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
