Video shows mangled bike after deadly crash reported on I-95 in Broward: FHP

The circumstances of the incident and identity of the victim were not immediately available.

A bumper was left in the roadway, but there was no car in sight. NBC6’s Bri Buckley reports.

A person was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Broward County on Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly before 7 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 at Pembroke Road. The crash left the off-ramp shut down until it reopened at around 10:30 a.m.

FHP officials called the incident a fatal pedestrian accident and said investigators were at the scene.

Video of the scene showed what appeared to be a mangled bicycle in the roadway and emergency vehicles blocking the ramp.

A bumper was left behind, but the striking vehicle was not at the scene. FHP have not said if they're investigating the crash as a hit-and-run.

Drivers were advised to exit at Hallandale Beach Boulevard as their alternate route.
