Several events in Miami-Dade and Broward are being cancelled, postponed, or closed to the public as the novel coronavirus continues to spread across the world.
While COVID-19 mainly affects the elderly and those with underlying health issues, local and state officials are still taking precautions to keep the public safe. Events like the Miami Open and the NASCAR Homestead Miami Speedway race have been cancelled or closed to the public, while other events are implementing heightened cleaning and hygiene practices.
Below is a guide that will be constantly updated with the status of major events scheduled to happen in South Florida from March to April, as well as information on how individual organizers are preparing.
ADRIENNE ARSHT CENTER SHOWS: POSTPONED
All performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center will not be taking place starting March 13th and going through April 5th. Officials will release more information at a later date about shows after that date.
Those ticket holders can either exchange their tickets for another later show, exchange them for a different show or get a refund by visiting this site for more information.

MIAMI OPEN 2020: CANCELLED
The Miami Open tennis tournament that was scheduled to begin March 23rd has been cancelled amid ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19. The event was set to take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
"We understand and support the Mayor’s decision as the health and safety of the community and everyone involved with the event remains our top priority," a spokesperson said. "Our team will be in touch in the coming days with ticket holders regarding refunds. "
INTER MIAMI CF: POSTPONED
Inter Miami CF's first home game against the Los Angeles Galaxy in Fort Lauderdale will be postponed after the Major League Soccer season was suspended Thursday.
ULTRA: POSTPONED UNTIL 2021
Officials from the City of Miami confirmed that this year's Ultra Music Festival will be postponed.
At a press conference, Mayor Francis Suarez said city officials were "willing to have them host the event once the threat has dissipated," but a post from the festival's Instagram page said the event would not take place until March of 2021.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FAIR & EXPOSITION: POSTPONED
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition that was scheduled to start March 12 has been postponed. The fair was previously set to run until April 5th.
In a statement, the president of the Youth Fair - Eddie Cora - said organizers are complying with Mayor Carlos Gimenez' emergency directive to postpone major events under growing concerns about the coronavirus.
“This is the first time in the Fair’s 69-year history that The Youth Fair has been postponed, and we are extremely regretful for the impact it will have on the youth of our community – the 600,000 guests who flock to the Youth Fair each year, the 63,000 students whose school projects are already set up for display at the Youth Fair and the high school seniors and other students who the fair funds with college scholarships and prizes from the proceeds of the Youth Fair,” Cora said.
JAZZ IN THE GARDENS: POSTPONED
The City of Miami Gardens will not host its annual Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival from March 14th to the 15th.
Mayor Oliver Gilbert made the announcement to NBC 6, saying that the "quick pace" in which news was coming forced the city to make the move.
All Jazz in the Gardens tickets will be fully refunded. Anyone who purchased a ticket with a credit card using Eventbrite.com, Ticketmaster.com or the Hard Rock Stadium Box Office will be automatically refunded within two weeks, organizers said.

MIAMI BEACH PRIDE PARADE: POSTPONED
Miami Beach Pride plans to reschedule its 2020 parade, "with the exception of the smaller, outdoor events scheduled for Monday, March 30." Event organizers say the decision was based on safeguarding the health of guests, sponsors, volunteers and others.
Events scheduled for Monday night -- including the rainbow flag raising ceremony at Miami Beach City Hall, the Pulse Nightclub remembrance ceremony at 1111 Lincoln Road and the pop-up art gallery exhibition at 817 N. Lincoln Lane -- are still scheduled to go on.
EVENTS AT AAA ARENA: POSTPONED
All major events at the American Airlines Arena have hereby been postponed, according to Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez.
NASCAR HOMESTEAD MIAMI SPEEDWAY RACE: POSTPONED
The March 22 NASCAR race at the Homestead Miami Speedway is now postponed, organizers said Friday.
“NASCAR has decided to postpone the race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend and Homestead-Miami Speedway next weekend," a NASCAR statement said. "We will continue to monitor this dynamic situation as we assess future race events.”
MIAMI FILM FESTIVAL: CANCELLED
Remaining public film screenings of the Miami Film Festival have been cancelled. Those who have purchased tickets for cancelled screenings will receive e-mails with more information, organizers said.
The Closing Night Film Press Event that was scheduled to take place Friday, March 13 has also been cancelled.
BROWARD CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS SHOWS: NOT CANCELLED
All performances at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Parker Playhouse have been postponed or cancelled, according to the official website.
Officials said the decision was made based on recommendations from Gov. Ron DeSantis and guidance from public health officials.
