The good news is that utility crews managed to contain an early morning water main break in Coral Springs on Sunday before any boil water order went into effect. The bad news is that the crews will have to continue working at the site, along Sample Road, for at least a day longer and maybe two.
Lieutenant Joe McHugh of the Coral Springs Police Department confirmed the news to NBC Miami early afternoon Sunday. He said that west bound traffic on Sample Road in the 10400 block had been shut down and that delays should be expected for 24 to 48 hours longer.
Water customers were told to expect low pressure until the repairs were finished.
McHugh said that crews had to dig five-feet below the road surface to repair the pipe.
