Authorities are investigating an altercation involving a celebrity bodyguard who died after being shocked with a Taser by police, Miami-Dade Police said Tuesday.
Norman Oosterbroek, 43, of Pinecrest, was tasered on Sept. 2 after police responded to a call at a nearby home on his street at 5841 Southwest 132nd Terrace. Sources said Oosterbroek was the owner of the security company RAD, which according to its website has provided protection to Beyonce, Lady Gaga and others.
The incident began when 47-year-old Christiane Jung heard noises inside her home. When she went to inspect, she was confronted by a naked Oosterbroek, police said.
A verbal fight between Oosterbroek and homeowner Markus Jung escalated into a violent confrontation, during which Oosterbroek swallowed an unknown substance, police said.
When police arrived they found both men in a fight. Oosterbroek became aggressive with the officers, who asked him to stop and tried to take him into custody.
He violently struggled with them, and in order to subdue him, he was shocked with a Taser, police said.
He was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.
"It’s possible that he may have been under some type of a narcotics. Again, he was observed swallowing, ingesting some kind of substance, unknown substance that is,” Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Javier Baez said of Oosterbroek.

News of the encounter shocked neighbors like Julia Brinck, who said the story makes no sense.
“I would like to know what really happened, because I don’t understand why a naked man is going inside a house and for what,” she said.
