Authorities are investigating after a juvenile crashed a car into a Miami Gardens home sending himself and a woman who was inside to the hospital.

A gaping hole from floor to ceiling was left the home at 20938 NW 39th Avenue, leaving it open to the elements Tuesday night.

The homeowner's brother is standing watch at the home to make sure no takes advantage of the situation.

Miami Gardens Police said the teenager lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the home while Dorothy Gibson and her daughter were inside.

"I really don't know. I was just sitting there and heard a loud bang. Like big bang," Gibson said. "I was just watching TV, me and my daughter, a loud noise like a big bang."

Witnesses said the car was speeding.

"He was speeding around the corner and he lost control coming around the corner and went through the trees and drove through the house," Ramsey Wells said.

Gibson says the car came within inches of her and her daughter Jackeline, who was on the ground traumatized afterward.

Footage showed the black Nissan sedan sticking halfway out of the house as firefighters and paramedics helped Gibson's daughter onto a stretcher and into an ambulance.

The teenaged driver was taken to Memorial Hospital and Gibson's daughter to Jackson North. Officials said they suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Jackeline Gibson's uncle said she needed stitches and a brain scan because she was hit in the head with debris.

Cell phone video shot at the scene shows two men coming to aid of the driver, who relatives said was 14 years old.

"I called 911 then I walked over there and I pulled him out of the car to help pull him out of the car, that's it," Brian Hester said.

A tow truck yanked the car out of the house. Relatives of the driver, who did not want to be identified said the 14-year-old took his mothers car, and that he's never done it before.

Police said it's unknown what charges if any he may face.
