Two motorcyclists are dead after a car lost control on I-95 Southbound in Pompano Beach Saturday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occured after the driver, Patricia O. Noel, lost control of her Honda Accord and struck a concrete median wall near Atlantic Boulevard, shifting lanes which hit two motorcyclists. She is in serious condition at Broward Health North.
The drivers of the motorcyclists were identified as Kevin Jackson and Andrew Jackson. They both owned Suzuki motorcycles.
Andrew Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene as Kevin Jackson was transported to Broward Health North where he later died.
Southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down for hours and later reopened around 1:45 a.m.
Authorties are investigating why Noel lost control of her vehicle. Witnesses reported motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed, police are trying to determine if those were the same motorcycles that witnesses earlier reported.
