The Broward County School Board voted against revoking a Plantation school's charter at an emergency meeting held Tuesday amid security concerns.

The meeting was called after Ben Gamla Charter School South Broward reportedly had no armed security guard on campus Monday.

School board members voted unanimously against the measure to revoke the school's charter, and said instead they will work out some type of monitoring accountability plan.

The public charter school had a detail contract with the Plantation Police Department, meaning it wasn't mandatory and officers had to choose to work shifts at the school.

The school had a Broward Sheriff's deputy Tuesday as an emergency fill-in, and will have an approved, BSO-trained armed guardian there for the rest of the school year.
