Broward Schools also alerted parents of the threat investigation through an email.

Parents told NBC6 that they were feeling uneasy after learning of the threats Saturday.

“Whoever it is that is doing these threats, it doesn't have a name on it,” Folayan Griffiths said. “It’s very scary.”

Folayan Griffiths daughter is a senior at Nova High School in Davie. Just two weeks ago, Nova middle and high school were placed on lock down. Police haven't said what the initial reason was.

“She left, she jumped the gate and she left because it was too scary,” Griffiths said.

Griffiths added that it’s hard not to think of the tragedy that happened at a Georgia high school this past week.

“You're concerned for all children that are in this environment when it's happened,” Griffiths said.

Max Joseph also has a son at Nova High. He, like many parents, doesn't want to have to worry when he says goodbye to his son every morning.

“At the end of the day, I send my kid to school and I'd love for my son to come back home each and every day,” Joseph said. “We're a people of faith, we pray, I tell my son to pray and be a good person.”

A BSO spokesperson noted that, under Florida law, a person who makes threats can be charged with a felony for written threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting.
