Authorities Search For Survivors in Small Plane Crash

The plane was en route to Daytona Beach from the Bahamas

Authorities are searching for two possible survivors of a plane crash that happened near the Bahamas Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The plane was en route to Daytona Beach from the Bahamas when its members lost communication with the Federal Aviation Administration.

A U.S. Coast Guard cutter based in Miami and a helicopter and aircrew from Clearwater are assisting Bahamian authorities in the search. Crews located a possible aircraft debris field and an oil sheen in the ocean, the Coast Guard said.
