Miami Gardens child found, mother arrested after AMBER Alert issued

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued the alert for a 9-year-old after he was last seen in the area of the 17700th block of Northwest 14th Avenue in Miami Gardens.

A child who was the center of an AMBER Alert has been found, and his mother was arrested Tuesday, officials said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued the alert for a 9-year-old after he was last seen in the area of the 17700 block of Northwest 14th Avenue in Miami Gardens.

He was described as four feet tall and 90 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair and a scab under his eye. He was last seen wearing a light blue school uniform shirt, dark blue pants, and black shoes.

Officials said he was in the company of 45-year-old Tameeka Budwah, and that they may have been traveling northbound in a 2024 black Honda Civic with Florida tag number RJVL88.

The child was found shortly after, and Miami Gardens Police said his mother was in custody.

Budwah is now facing multiple charges including false imprisonment of a child under 13, custody interference by a parent, burglary of an occupied conveyance, domestic violence/violation of an injunction, and petty theft.

She was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center overnight.
