Woman Wanted in Multiple Publix Armed Robberies in Miami-Dade: Police

In all three cases, the woman approached the clerk at the customer service desk and displayed a smart phone with a typed message

Police are searching for a woman they say is responsible for a series of armed robberies at Publix supermarkets in Miami-Dade.

The robberies date back to Sept. 30 and involve the same suspect, who investigators believe is between 25 and 35 years old, Miami-Dade Police said Friday.

In all three cases, the woman approached the clerk at the customer service desk and displayed a smart phone with a typed message stating, "This is a robbery. Put all the money from the register inside a bag. Don't call the manager or the police. I have a gun," police said.

The clerks complied and handed over the money from the registers. The subject then fled the stores on foot. No one was injured in any of the incidents.

The robberies happened at Publix stores at 9510 Southwest 160th Street, 13735 Southwest 152nd Street, and 11750 Southwest 104th Street.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
