Singer Jacquees was arrested on Miami Beach after he was spotted behind the wheel of a Lamborghini without a seat belt then ignored an officer's instructions, officials said.
The 23-year-old singer, whose full name is Rodriguez Jacquees Broadnax, was taken into custody Wednesday in the area of Ocean Drive and 8th Street on charges of failure to obey a police officer and disorderly conduct/breach of the peace, according to a Miami Beach Police arrest report.
The report said the singer was spotted by an officer driving the black Lamborghini without his seat belt on. When the officer ordered him to pull over, Jacquees didn't obey and kept driving at a low rate of speed on Ocean Drive, the report said.
When the officer asked him again to pull over, he refused, but eventually stopped and got out of the car, the report said. The officer told him to walk to the sidewalk but Jacquees refused to comply and said "do not touch me," the report said.
A large crowd started to gather around the scene and got close to the officer, "creating an obvious safety concern," the report said. The officer requested more officers due to the large crowd and "the defendant still not complying," the report said.
Once more officers arrived, Jacquees was taken into custody.
"It should be noted that the defendant's actions disrupted the peace and quiet and public morals of bystanders on a busy spring break day on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach," the report said. "if the defendant would have complied since he was being pulled over, this incident could have been avoided."
