Police are investigating a pair of hit-and-run crashes in Fort Lauderdale Saturday morning that left a man and woman dead.
The first incident happened around 3 a.m. when an adult male was struck by a vehicle while walking in the area of West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 7th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale Police said. The driver fled the scene in what investigators believe was a 2011 to 2019 silver Hyundai Sonata that would have front end damage.
The second incident happened when a woman who was in the 900 block of Northwest 10th Avenue near Sunrise Boulevard was struck and killed, police said. Traffic homicide investigators believe the woman may have been struck by a large commercial vehicle, possibly a semi-truck, and the driver may not have realized they struck a person.
Police haven't released the identity of either victim, and both incidents remain under investigation.
