Police are investigating after a machete-wielding man who threatened people outside a bar in Coral Springs was shot and killed early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened at around 2 a.m. outside of Premier Billiards at 9120 Wiles Road, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.
Rajendranauth Latchman, 49, of Coral Springs, was at the bar, drinking, and then was escorted out for creating a disturbance inside, according to Sgt. Scott Myers.
Myers said Latchman then went to his car and retrieved a machete and threatened patrons with it.
A man in the parking lot fired his gun several times, striking Latchman, police said. Latchman later died in the hospital.
The shooter, who legally owned the handgun, has not been identified and is cooperating with the investigation. Police said there is no probable cause for his arrest at this time.
Police said Latchman has no prior criminal history and are not saying what the disturbance inside the bar was about.
