Miami Beach's bike-share program is headed to Miami.
DecoBike, now known as CitiBike, will be adding 75 stations and 750 bikes to the City of Miami during the first week of November thanks to new sponsorship from Citi Bank.
"With the help of Citi we've managed to do the expansion of the program without the need for taxpayer dollars," said Colby Reese, Chief Marketing Officer for DecoBike.
The bikes will be located in Brickell, Bayside, Wynwood and Coconut Grove.
"Everyone says downtown Miami is fantastic, and yet they say we need more mobility, so here we are," said City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado.
Memberships for CitiBike start at $15 a month, but a membership isn't necessary to ride. Anyone who isn't registered can rent a bike from any CitiBike kiosk with a credit card. Hourly non-member rentals start at $4.50 per half hour and go up to $24 per day.

DecoBike executives said that since 2011 the system in Miami Beach has been successful, logging over 4.5 million rides. They said hope to see the same demand in the City of Miami.
By the end of January 2015, CitiBike plans to link the Miami Beach and City of Miami systems, so cyclists can bike from Coconut Grove to as far north as Bay Harbor Islands.
"It is innovative, it is sustainable, it improves quality of life," said CitiBank Miami Market President Diane Ryan. "Everything that we want to be a part of."
