Shoppers who spend their money at Sears and Kmart locations will have four less spots in South Florida to choose from with closures expected to take place by early next year.
The company that purchased the stores earlier this year, Transformco, announced the closure of two Sears stores, one at 20701 Southwest 112th Avenue in Miami and one at 1625 West 49th Street in Hialeah.
In addition, two Kmart stores – at 3800 Oakwood Boulevard in Hollywood and 1201 South Dixie Highway in Lantana – are closing with sales beginning in early December and stores closing their doors by February 2020.
The company is closing a total of 96 locations between the two stores – more than a third of the total stores that remain open as officials say they will continue to evaluate the “footprint” of both stores.
