32-Year-Old Man Arrested After Having Sex With 14-Year-Old Girl at Hollywood Motel: Police

Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley ordered Samuel Semper held on $50,000 bond

Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley ordered Samuel Semper, 32, held on $50,000 bond Tuesday after police said they arrested him for having sex with an underage girl in a Hollywood motel. The judge and a prosecutor spoke in court. A public defender represented Semper at the hearing.

A 32-year-old Dania Beach man was being held on $50,000 bond Tuesday after he was arrested for having sex with an underage girl in a Hollywood motel, authorities said.

Samuel Semper faces two counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between 12 and 16 years old and is being held at the Broward County Main Jail, online Broward Sheriff's Office records showed.

A woman told police that she went to the Hill Motel at 418 S. Federal Highway on Sunday morning to find her boyfriend, Semper, and saw him having sex with the 14-year-old girl through a window. Another man in the room was receiving oral sex from the girl, police said in an arrest report.

The girlfriend said that when she knocked on the door Semper answered the door nude, and she left on her bike, very upset, the report said.

The victim told detectives that after she met with the two men on Saturday night, they got a room at the motel and started to smoke crack, which Semper gave to her, according to the report.

The two men left to sell crack in another part of Hollywood, then returned to the room, where they all smoked crack and started to engage in sexual acts, the report said.

Semper told detectives that he did meet the girl, but denied having any sexual contact with her, according to the report.

A public defender represented Semper in bond court Tuesday.

A prosecutor said during the hearing that Semper was convicted of delivery of cocaine in 2009 and sentenced to about 49 months in state prison as a habitual offender, but he was released Dec. 30, 2012. Semper has numerous other offenses on his record, the prosecutor said.

Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley noted Semper’s lengthy criminal record, the age of the alleged victim and his concern for her safety, among other factors, before he set Semper’s bond.

Hurley ordered Semper, if he bonds out of jail, to have no contact with the girl, and to stay 500 feet away from her at all times. He also said that Semper would not be allowed to possess guns, weapons or ammunition while he’s out. Semper would also have to wear a GPS monitor if he is released.
