“There was some type of altercation in the drive-thru of the Wendy’s at which time the report came in that there were shots fired," Capt. Megan Jones said. “We’re still interviewing people and getting the overall picture of what happened.”

Police say the man rammed his car into their car. As the woman tried to back up and escape, the man got out of his car and started shooting at them.

Both victims died on the scene. Police found the shooter near their car after it appeared he turned the gun on himself.

At this point, police say it's unclear how the shooter tracked down his ex-girlfriend.

Police are not releasing the names of the two victims due to Marcy’s Law.

Once they notify the family of the shooter, police plan to release his name.

Two cars were towed away from the scene Tuesday morning. One car, a Hyundai, appeared to have crashed into some bushes, while the other, a Kia, had been facing the wrong way in the drive-thru.
