2 Women Arrested, Man Wanted in Miami Gardens Human Trafficking Case

Police have arrested two women and are looking for a man as part of an investigation into a human trafficking case in Miami Gardens.

Destinee Thompson, 21, and Courtney Robinson, 25 were arrested on Monday after officers responded to a report of a woman being held against her will at a home at 121 Northwest 188th Street.

An investigation revealed that two women met 32-year-old Johnnie Randell Wilson Pigatt, who offered to let them stay at his home. During their stay there, neither woman was allowed to leave, police said.

At one point, Robinson and Thompson puts ads on Backpage.com offering both of the victims for prostitution, police said.

Robinson and Thompson were arrested at the scene and charged with human trafficking. Both appeared in court Tuesday where they were ordered held on $10,000 each, and both were appointed public defenders.

"We have two victims who were involved in this human trafficking case, they're both in their early 20s and they're now safe and sound," Miami Gardens Police Det. Luis Gonzalez said.

Pigatt fled and is now wanted, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts or info on additional possible victims are asked to contact Miami Gardens Police.
