2 men found shot to death inside car in southwest Miami-Dade: Police

Both were declared dead at the scene, which is near the Turnpike

NBC Universal, Inc. Two men were found dead inside a vehicle later Wednesday night, Miami-Dade police said. NBC6’s Lena Salzbank reports.

Police are investigating after two men were found shot to death inside a vehicle in southwest Miami-Dade late Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the area of Quail Roost Drive and Southwest 113th Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting and found a vehicle that had struck a utility pole, Miami-Dade Police officials said.

Inside the vehicle were two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were declared dead at the scene, which is near a Turnpike ramp.

Video shows authorities surrounding a Mercedes that was riddled with bullets. A visibly distraught woman was also seen walking away from the scene.

Resident Darrell Collins said he heard gunshots, and a few hours later learned that a family firend had been killed by them.

"I heard the gunshots but I thought it was firecrackers," Collins said. "It’s too much killing. Everyday you wake up and hear a loved one got shot."

Police haven't released the victims' identities.

Information on a possible suspect was not immediately available.

The Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau is investigating.
