Two people were injured in an overnight shooting in a popular tourist area of South Beach.
Miami Beach Police say the shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. early Monday in the area of 7th Street and Ocean Drive in between Ocean and Collins Avenue.
Officer Ernesto Rodriguez of Miami Beach Police says one victim flagged down an officer saying he had been shot multiple times in the stomach. That victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital from that location.
The other victim wasn't found until police made a traffic stop several blocks away at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Inside that car were four passengers, one of them with a gunshot wound to the hand, police say.
That person was taken to Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
Both victims are said to be in stable condition, according to police. The other three people who were in that car are being interviewed by detectives.
At this time, police do not believe there are any additional suspects in the shooting.
