Surveillance video captured the moments a crowd gathered outside a home and then minutes later, paramedics arrived at the scene.

Blood was seen on the doorknob and windows of the home.

When NBC6 crews knocked on the door, no one answered but at least two dogs were heard barking inside.

Andre Paris told NBC6 he had an interaction with the same dog just a week ago.

"The pit bull came out," he said. "I was sitting right there and I had a bottle of water in my hand and the pit bull came at me and I just flashed it like that, and he stopped. I love animals but you can’t have a dog like that running around, biting people. It makes no sense. No sense at all."

NBC6 cameras were rolling as Broward County Animal Care arrived at the house.

But because nobody was home, a worker told NBC6 she would be going to the hospital to speak with the family.

Another neighbor said she had seen the dog before but had never seen it act in an aggressive way.

As a mother, she said this is part of the reason she doesn’t have dogs.

"They’re animals. They have animal instincts," she said. "You don’t know what’s going to trigger them, so that’s my opinion on dogs in homes."

Animal care has not returned to the house just yet and it's unclear what will happen to the dog that attacked the children.
