Miramar Police Sgt. Tiffany Roy said they received a call that the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, and since they didn't know if the suspect fled on foot or by car, a perimeter was set up.
Roy said police are investigating what may have led to the shooting, searching for the shooter and interviewing possible witnesses.
"When they got the 911 call they heard obviously screaming, commotion in the background," Roy said. "They do not know how many people were on scene at the time, they don't know if they were maybe witnesses or they were involved, they don't have that information so they are speaking to everybody that came outside and may have witnessed it."
