Video Shows Officer Rescuing Baby Dolphin Trapped in Fishing Net

Video shows a Miami-Dade officer rescuing a baby dolphin after it was trapped in a fishing net. After several attempts, Officer Nelson Silva — who works in the marine patrol unit — was able to free the marine mammal so it could swim safely in the waters near Shorecrest. The video was posted on the MDPD Twitter page with several commenters commending Officer Silva’s persistence in saving the dolphin.
