Cynthia Nixon Spreads the Word About Rosacea

Actress Cynthia Nixon spoke with NBC 6’s Sharon Lawson about rosacea, a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. The “Sex in the City” star said she learned she had it when she went to her dermatologist to get a mole checked out. “And very quickly, she just gave me a topical, and talked to me about what s called triggers which are things like being out in the sun, or drinking red wine, or spicy food, or hot baths or sudden changes in temperature that can really flare it up and (that) made a big difference for me very, very quickly,” said Nixon, who has made public service announcements with the National Rosacea Society. For more information, see RosaceaFacts.com. Flor Mayoral of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine also spoke about rosacea. Nixon said will appear in a new Neil LaBute play, “The Money Shot,” on Broadway this fall.
