Celebrity makeup artist and Giorgio Armani National Beauty Director Tim Quinn was at Bloomingdales in Aventura Mall recently to help promote the launch of the cosmetics line at the department store. Quinn found some time to offer NBCMiami readers everything from backstage quick fixes to how to go from a day time to a sexy evening look this season.
What are some things women can hold onto in their makeup bag from summer?
Keep your bronzer, replace your mascara and keep your nude gloss. I would suggest adding a liquid eyeliner and making sure you have a brow pencil on hand.
For a fall daytime look what do you recommend?
A smoky eye works well in the daytime. This season, I recommend our Eyes to Kill Palette #1, which features taupe shades, and pair it with our gun metal grey Eyes to Kill Mascara #3. This look still gives the sophisticated smoky eye effect, but a bit more subtle and chic. Pair with a nude lipstick, like ArmaniSilk #55, and a nude gloss over top, like YSL Pur Gloss #1.
For a fall evening look how can a Miamian change it up?
To add a bit of glam for evening, I recommend using purple shades on the eye. You can combine purple shades with taupes and greys to create a sultry fall eye look. Add a bit of liquid liner -- try a navy or grey shade, like our new liquid silk liner shades. As a finishing touch, go heavy on the black mascara and use Hampton Sun Serious Shimmer for a gorgeous glow -- it works for any season.
What are some essential products every woman should have even if they can't afford to spend a lot?
Foundation is the number one investment I would recommend to any woman. Luminous Silk Foundation offers a range of shades. Visit a makeup counter to get matched to your perfect shade. I also advise clients to purchase an eyelash curler and recommend carrying an eyebrow pencil.
Can you tell us a good backstage quick fix that the everyday woman can use?
Our Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer, which is a liquid highlighter, can be applied with a large powder brush to brighten and refresh your complexion at any point in the day. To further enhance your glow, take a large blush brush and apply bronzer to the face in the shape of a three. Start at the temples and brush down to just below the cheek bones. Finish by sweeping the brush down to just beneath the jaw line. This gives a natural looking glow and adds contouring to give a more refined look.
