The lead singer of a popular band is facing assault charges after investigators say he threw microphone stands into the crowd during a concert at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.
Police say it happened Saturday night during Six Flags’ “FestEVIL,” a music festival featuring metal, punk and hardcore music. Post-hardcore band Falling in Reverse served as the headline act. During their set, police say the band’s lead singer, Ronnie Radke, 28, threw three microphone stands into the crowd.The incident was captured on youtube. Watch it here.
Police say a 16-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man were struck in the head by the mic stands, according to the Asbury Park Press. Police told the APP the girl suffered bruising and a cut on her head while the man was treated at the scene for his injuries.
Jackson Police arrested Radke and charged him with simple assault and aggravated assault, according to the APP. The APP reports he was released on $25,000 bail.
Kristin Siebeneicher, a Six Flags spokeswoman, said the following to the Asbury Park Press:
This was the first metal show that we’ve ever had and will be the last. We have no plans to host another metal show.
This performer was completely reckless. He had complete disregard for the safety of his fans. His actions were totally unacceptable. It’s not the type of entertainment that we want to be producing.
