Kristin Sanchez is the host of South Florida Live which airs weekdays at 12:30pm on NBC6. Sanchez joined NBC6 in May, 2018 as the morning news and traffic anchor on NBC6 Today weekdays from 4:30 AM to 7 AM.
Sanchez came to NBC6 from CBS affiliate WINK in Fort Myers, Florida, where she served as news reporter for two years and most recently as traffic reporter. Prior to this, she has held producer positions at NBC Sports’ Golf Channel and ABC affiliate WFTV in Orlando, Florida. Sanchez moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from Orlando where she served as weekend reporter at NBC affiliate WMBF.
Sanchez has been honored as “Best Anchorwoman” in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by Fort Lauderdale Magazine and is a recipient of South Florida’s Business & Wealth Magazine’s “Prestigious Women Award” for her work as a broadcast professional in South Florida. Her support and love for South Florida’s vibrant communities expand to various charitable efforts including Miss Arc Broward, Rebuilding Together Broward and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
A Long Island native of Ecuadorian heritage, she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast, print, and online media with a minor in Spanish and business from Florida Southern College. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida.
Sanchez cherishes her role as a family girl. Quality time with her loved ones is a top priority, and she cherishes the moments spent with her husband, son, family, and friends.
Recognizing the importance of self-care amidst her demanding schedule, Sanchez carves out precious moments to recharge and rejuvenate. From workouts and yoga to indulging in beauty treatments and embracing her love for travel, she understands that nurturing her well-being is essential to being there for the people and experiences that matter most in her life.
