Johanna Torres is a weekday morning traffic reporter for NBC6 South Florida Today. She began working at NBC6 in July 2023.
Prior to joining WTVJ, Torres worked as a communications manager. Her broadcast career began as a news anchor, reporter and producer at WGXA in Macon, Georgia. Later, she worked as a news reporter for WPLG Local 10 in Miami.
Torres enjoys working out and worked as a SoulCycle indoor spinning instructor for six years. She was also the director of the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders.
The daughter of Dominican parents, Torres grew up right here in South Florida. She says that ever since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in television.
After graduating from South Plantation High School, Torres received a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communication and Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
Torres is a breast cancer survivor and understands the importance of fitness and wellness. She is also passionate about sharing feel good stories, which she now gets to share on NBC6.
