Chis Hush is an Emmy® award-winning journalist who joined NBC6 in August 2022. He currently anchors the station’s weekend evening newscasts, NBC6 News at 6pm and NBC6 News at 11pm, alongside NBC6 weekend anchor Alina Machado. Hush is also a weekday reporter.
Before joining NBC6, Hush was at our sister station, NBC Chicago (WMAQ) where he worked as a news reporter for six years. During that time, Hush received an Emmy® award and an Edward R. Murrow award for a four-part docuseries he wrote, produced, directed and hosted. “Vaccinated State” dived into the creation, distribution and eventual challenges of the first three COVID-19 vaccines.
Prior to his time in Chicago, Hush also worked at WESH 2 News Orlando, WGAL 8 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and WETM-TV in Elmira, New York.
Hush says he is living his childhood dream of becoming a journalist, specifically at NBC and that he always loved the power of journalism and the importance of knowing what’s going on in the community he lives in.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Maryland and Tampa, Florida, Hush studied at Penn State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism.
A former gymnast and Big Ten cheerleader, in his spare time Hush enjoys road biking roller coasters and hopes to foster a dog in the near future.
