Two kittens got loose on subway tracks in Brooklyn, and the MTA suspended service on two of its lines around lunchtime as workers in reflective vests tried to corral the felines, witnesses and officials said.
A couple from Brooklyn Heights adopted the the two 4-month-old kittens, named Arthur and August, according to Animal Care and Control of NYC.
Service was suspended for two hours on the B and Q lines Aug. 29 as transit workers tried to catch the kittens that raced up and down the tracks near the third rail at the Church Avenue station in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
The felines were eventually corralled and brought to Animal Care and Control in Brooklyn. They were cared for a foster home, and Arthur was treated for an eye infection.
Animal Care and Control says the kittens are playful and sweet but still a bit shy.
Both are males. Arthur is a tabby and August is a black cat.
