A Fort Lauderdale youth pastor accused of having sex with several underage boys appeared in bond court Friday on six new charges.
Jeffery London, 48, was held on no bond for four new sexual assault charges and was granted $15,000 bond for sexual battery and lewd and lascivious conduct charges, according to online jail records. He is facing a total of 36 counts, including sexual assault and sexual battery, and remains in custody in the Paul Rein Detention Facility.
Prosecutors asked that the judge issue new no-contact orders between London and the two new reported victims.
The new victims told police that they performed oral sex on London, one in exchange for a cell phone and clothing, according to an arrest affidavit.
Allegations against London date back to 2002 when he began taking care of an 8-year-old boy as a favor for the boy's mother, who was going through rough financial times, authorities said. London was a friend of the mother.
The first victim recently told a friend at church that he was sexually abused by London for the decade that they lived together. The victim told police that London would buy him video games or give him money in return for the sexual acts, according to the arrest affidavit.
The public defender representing London was not present at the hearing.
