A young girl was rushed to the hospital after she was found unresponsive in a pool at a Pompano Beach home Wednesday morning.
The incident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 3200 block of Canal Drive, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
The girl, believed to be 2 years old, was taken by fire rescue to Holy Cross Hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said. She was expected to be transferred to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Officials said BSO's Special Victims Unit is investigating the near-drowning.
No other information was immediately known.
