Miami Fire Rescue confirms that two workers were being treated after a construction accident on the 26th floor of a building in southeast Miami.
“A wall that is used to create concrete walls inside the building actually came crashing down on one of the workers and slightly injured the other one,” Captain Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue said.
The accident happened at the Met Three development at 200 SE Third Ave in the heart of downtown Miami. The rescue was challenging because the elevators at the construction site didn’t go up to the 26th floor yet.
“With the assistance of the safety crew here at the building, we were able to sue some of their equipment and lower them down to the area where we could bring them down in the elevator,” Carroll said.
The conditions of the men haven’t been released. OSHA has taken over the investigation into what caused the accident.
