Uber Driver Robbed at Gunpoint in Miami

Police are looking for a man who got into the back of an Uber driver's car and robbed him at gunpoint in Miami.

The robbery happened at around 3:57 p.m. Friday at Biscayne Boulevard and 80th Street, Miami police said.

Julio Cesar was parked in an intersection when a man he believed was a customer got into the backseat of his car. When Cesar tried to tell him he wasn't in service, the suspect pointed a handgun at him and demanded that he hand over his belongings.

The victim handed over his two cellphones to the suspect and the suspect fled northbound on Biscayne Boulevard, police said. Cesar wasn't hurt, but told NBC 6 he should have had his doors locked.

The suspect is described as a 23 to 25-year-old black male who stands 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, with facial buzz, and was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket, white t-shirt and dark-colored pants. Surveillance footage apparently show him leaving the scene.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
