Police and animal activists are on the lookout for two horses that were stolen from a Hialeah ranch.
Officials say the caretaker of the ranch, located at 16480 NW 117th Avenue, called the South Florida SPCA around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning when he noticed a portion of the property’s fence was missing and the two animals could not be found.
One of the horses is a chestnut Quarter Horse mare and the other is a bay Paso Fino gelding. They were housed in a barn with three other horses, who were all reported to be safe.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Agricultural Unit at 786-218-8344.
