About 800 children hunted down Halloween treats on Wednesday morning in Brickell.
The hundreds of ghoulish little ghosts, pint-sized police officers, fierce firefighters and polished princesses paraded down the Brickell area, hitting up one business after another.
Ten years in a row, the kids of Southside Elementary School have gone with this daytime trick-or-treat alternative.
'We're seeing a lot more of these activities. These types of parades, people going to malls as opposed to just trick-or-treating outside, going door to door. That's something that we highly recommend just because you're able to maintain an eye on your children," said Det. Kenia Reyes of the Miami Police. "Definitely try not to wear face masks, make sure your costume is up to size, nothing too big, wear glow sticks, have a flashlight and make sure your that you're always accompanied by an adult."
Reyes also reminded parents to inspect their children's goodie bags, only letting them eat securely wrapped treats and candy.
