Detectives arrested a Tamarac woman who got ready for Black Friday by hoarding over $275,000 worth of counterfeit goods – including fake purses from Chanel, Gucci and Michael Kors – that she intended to sell, authorities said.
Rajwante Rambharat, 55, had more than 500 counterfeit designer items stockpiled in her home, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. Among them were counterfeit versions of purses from Coach, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Salvatore, the agency said.
Rambharat had a warrant out for her arrest for allegedly selling counterfeit goods. When BSO detectives went to pick her up at the home she rents at 8584 Northwest 61st St. Wednesday night, they found her living in what they describe as a home turned into a warehouse.
"Basically the whole living room was boxes and boxes of all this merchandise," Sgt. Jeff Cirminiello said.
She intended to sell the knockoff goods at flea markets, according to the BSO.

"We believe that she was getting ready for the holiday season," Cirminiello said. "This merchandise we believe is coming in containers from China. She's part of a larger group, and we're hoping this puts a dent in it, at least for the South Florida area."
Rambharat was charged with selling or offering to sell counterfeit goods, the agency said. It wasn’t immediately known whether she has an attorney.
When detectives picked her up, she was cooperative, the BSO said.
"She was speaking, she was very honest," Cirminiello said.
