The man who police say shot and killed a man inside a car on I-95 in Broward County this past July 4th has been captured, authorities said Tuesday.
Antoinne Robert Hester, 22, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals agents after he was found hiding under a bed at his grandmother's home in Riviera Beach Monday, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
A warrant had been issued for Hester in July after he was named a suspect in the shooting of 20-year-old Bevins Bennett.
According to the BSO, four people, including Bevins and Bennett, were inside a green Kia Soul heading northbound on I-95 when Hester shot Bennett somewhere between Sunrise Boulevard and Sample Road.
The driver of the car took Bennett to the emergency room at Broward Health North, where Hester got out of the car and fled on foot, the BSO said. Bennett Bennett was in critical condition and later died on July 7.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, the BSO said.
Hester, of West Palm Beach, faces one count of first-degree murder and is expected to be transferred to the BSO Main Jail. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
